SUMMARY

GR Korea is looking to recruit a Senior Public Policy Manager for our office in Seoul (Yeongdeungpo-gu), to support our work on a range of Korean public policy issues.

 

We are looking for an individual with at least fifteen years’ experience in government relations. The chosen candidate will be required to provide outreach and engagement support for a variety of accounts spanning different sectors. English proficiency would be a plus, but it is not absolutely essential.

 

GR Korea is part of the GR Group, a rapidly growing international government relations and public affairs consulting firm with offices in Seoul, Washington D.C., London, Tokyo and Osaka. There will be opportunities, the Covid-19 situation permitting, to travel to other offices, but you will be part of the Seoul team, working closely with your colleagues in Seoul and around the world. GR Korea and the GR Group provide career opportunities at the intersection of business and government, helping world-leading corporations, NGOs, industry associations and other stakeholders engage effectively with government and on public policy discussions.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent spoken and written Korean
• Good university degree (2:1 or higher) in a related subject (such as public policy, economics, politics, communications or international relations)
• At least fifteen years’ relevant experience, for example in government, government relations, politics, a strategy consultancy, international business or think tank
• Strong understanding of Korean policies and the policy-making process, and a working knowledge of Korean government and politics
• Multinational company experience is a plus
• English proficiency would be a plus, but it is not essential

 

RESPONSIBILITY

• Providing support to implement strategic outreach and engagement plans with policy stakeholders by leveraging extensive experience with key government stakeholders and bodies
• Managing client relations and stakeholder relations in a skilful and professional manner
• Conducting client-specific research and intelligence gathering into current policy issues and contributing to reports
• Working with colleagues on a variety of important policy challenges
• All-round support as part of the GR Korea and GR Group team, including generating ideas and proposals for new business development

• 정부, 정치, 정부 관계, 전략 컨설팅, 국내 또는 외국계 기업 정책 담당 등 관련 경험이 15년 이상 있는 자
• 한국 정책과 정책결정 과정에 대한 강한 이해와 한국 정부와 정치에 대한 실무 지식을 보유한 자
• 해외여행에 결격사유가 없는 자
